Individual Counselling
Individual psychotherapy offers a confidential space to explore the thoughts, emotions, and patterns that shape your life. Many people seek therapy when they feel overwhelmed, stuck in repeating patterns, navigating anxiety or depression, processing trauma or grief, or moving through significant life transitions.
In our work together we slow down and explore what is happening internally. With greater awareness comes greater choice. Therapy can help you understand the protective patterns, beliefs, and emotional responses that influence how you relate to yourself and others.
Julie draws from a range of evidence based approaches including Internal Family Systems (IFS), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Motivational Interviewing.

Trauma Processing
Some experiences overwhelm the nervous system in ways that continue to affect how we think, feel, and respond long after the event has passed. Individuals living with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) may notice intrusive memories, heightened anxiety, emotional numbness, difficulty feeling safe, or strong reactions that seem to arise automatically.
Trauma processing therapy focuses on helping the nervous system safely process and integrate these experiences so they no longer carry the same emotional intensity or disruption in daily life. Rather than repeatedly reliving painful events, trauma informed approaches allow the mind and body to gradually resolve memories that remain stored in a distressing or fragmented way.

Complimentary Consultation
Choosing a therapist is an important decision. A brief consultation can be a helpful first step in determining whether working together feels like a good fit.
During this complimentary consultation we can talk about what has been bringing you to therapy, explore the concerns or goals that feel most important to you, and discuss how counselling may be helpful. It also provides an opportunity for you to ask questions about the therapy process and the approaches I use in my work.
If it feels like my practice is a good match for your needs, we can discuss next steps for beginning therapy. If another type of support or specialization may be more helpful, I am also happy to help guide you toward resources or providers that may better meet your needs.
The goal of this conversation is simply to help you feel more informed, supported, and confident about the next step in your care.
